Angelo C. “Junior” D’Ambrosi, age 77, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2015 in Florida, with his loving wife by his side.

Angelo was born in Rome on October 25, 1937 to the late Angelo and Nazarena Montova D’Ambrosi. He attended and graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1956. On August 20, 1960, he was united in marriage to the former Vincenza Muttillo at the Church of St. John the Baptist. He worked in Civil Engineering at Griffiss AFB for the Department of Defense and afterwards at Rome Labs as the Human Resources Officer until his retirement.

Angelo is survived by his wife of 54 years, Vincenza; a son, Mark D’Ambrosi of New York, NY; two daughters and two sons in law, Cheryl and William Goebel of Westborough, MA, and Wendy and Douglas Hadley of Clifton Park, NY; granddaughters, Marissa, Sabrina and Chloe Goebel of Westborough, MA; a sister, Rose Shoemaker of Rome; and a sister in law, Joanne D’Ambrosi of Lowville. He was predeceased by his brother, Santo “Sam” D’Ambrosi; a sister and brother in law, Jean and Herbert Jeror; and a brother in law, Ronald Shoemaker.

Angelo was an avid golfer and skier. He was a member of the Woods Valley Ski Patrol, as well as the National Ski Patrol, the Rome Jaycees, the Polish Home, and the Rome Elks. He served in the NYS National Guard and was also a member of the Lake Delta Vol. Fire Department. Angelo’s greatest joy was his family. He loved skiing and golfing with his granddaughters and attending their sporting events and other activities.
