Angelica Joy, “Angel,” as we all knew her, was 1 of the most beautiful souls God gave the world. With a tiny body & a huge amount of sass, she never let not being able to speak keep her from saying plenty. We loved her for that – & so many other things. Born in 1987 in Nebraska, she passed away January 20, 2022.
In childhood, she crisscrossed the United States with her parents, Bill & Wendi Capehart, & 6 siblings before settling in Indiana, with a brief stint in the Philippines (the warmth made her happy!). She loved bananas, her own practical jokes, had the most mischievous grin, & the sweetest smile. One niece remarked that she “got along well with babies,” & it is indeed true that all of her young nieces and nephews (15 with another on the way!) adored holding her hand as they helped her to a chair.
They did that because walking was difficult for her. We’d walk any trail slowly so she could keep up with us. As much as we grieve right now, we are also keenly aware of the irony of life now. She’s gone further up & further in first & it’s our turn to catch up. We’ll be there when we can – we are so eager to see you dancing & running with Jesus!
