Angel  Antongiorgi,  a  longtime  Beacon resident,  passed away on  December  9,  2021,  at the  Montefiore  St. Luke’s-Cornwall  Hospital in  Newburgh,  NY;  he was  72  years old.  He was born in  Humacao,  Puerto  Rico on October  2,  1949, the son of the late  Sergio  Antongiorgi and  Francisca  Pérez.

Angel served in the  United  States  Army during the  Vietnam  War from  November  3,  1969, to  June  6,  1971, and received an honorable service discharge.

After the Army, he settled in  Brooklyn  N.Y. and began working at the Velasco plastic factory where he met  Julia Yolanda.    After a  period of courtship,  they married on  December  16,  1971.    They began their journey in Queens  N.Y.  where  Angel became a  truck driver delivering home heating oil.    He then transitioned to employed by  New  York  State  Corrections and served them for over  25  years.  His career in corrections started at  Greenhaven  Correctional  Facility,  continued onto  Sing  Sing  CF,  and finally retired at  Downstate  Correctional in  Fishkill  N.Y. in November  2013.  That opportunity gave him the financial stability to move his family to  Wappingers Falls,  N.Y.  and a  few years later achieved his dream of buying a house in  Beacon  N.Y.  where he lived together with his wife,  children, and grandchildren.

His biggest enjoyment was helping and being a  loving father to his kids at every milestone of their lives. Spending time and helping raise his grandkids. Traveling to different destinations in  Europe with his beloved wife.  Listening to music,  dancing, having conversations, and joking with friends and loved ones.

Along with his beloved wife of almost 49 years,  Angel is survived by his three children:  Angel  Louis Antongiorgi,  Jaclyn  Farrah  Antongiorgi, and  Giovanni  Joseph  Antongiorgi;  His grandchildren:  Nicholas Angel  Antongiorgi,  Farrah  Naomi  Aquino,  Alyssa  Marie  Aquino,  Xiomara  Mia  Antongiorgi, Nysa  Daniela Montes,  Brooklyn  Marie  Antongiorgi,  Julissa  Victoria  Antongiorgi;  and also  1  great-grandson  Castiel  Angel Antongiorgi.  He is also survived by one brother,  Orlando  Antongiorgi.

Along with his parents,  Angel was predeceased by two brothers and one sister.
