Andrew “Andy” Wesley Frazier, Sr., age 76, died peacefully on August 30, 2016, following a lengthy illness. He was born on November 27, 1939, in Albuquerque, NM. Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Susie Frazier; brother, Robert “Jerry” Frazier; sister and nephew, Etta and Jeff Skinner; sister, Virginia Edwards; and son, Andrew W. Frazier, Jr. He is survived by his wife of nearly 46 years, Norma Frazier; daughters, Sandra “Sandy” Sanchez-Armijo and husband, Robert and Kathryn “Kat” Simmons and husband, Jason; son, Paul Frazier and wife, Emily, of Houston, TX; granddaughter, Jennifer Jansson Doby; grandsons, Charles “Chad” Frazier; Miles, Oliver, and Reid Frazier of Houston, TX, and Gunnar Simmons; great-grandsons, Steven and Caden Doby; brother, Fred “Bud” Frazier and wife, Marie; sister, Patricia “Pat” Dodd and husband, Alan, of Portales, NM; brothers-in-law, William “Bill” Edwards, Sr. and James “Bo” Skinner; sister-in-law, Roberta Ratzlow; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of Albuquerque, NM unless otherwise noted.
Andy began working at an early age and acquired many diverse job skills throughout his lifetime. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years which included a long period working as an electrician in French Morocco. After working for several years as an auto mechanic, he completed a two year program in drafting and surveying at TV-I, now CNM. He worked at Sandia Laboratories for thirteen years and then started his own business doing custom home designs and commercial drafting. He was always willing to help people and could fix almost anything. Despite many health problems over much of his life, he never lost his sense of humor and his faith in God. He will be missed by all who knew him.
