Andrew (Andy) Lawrence Cizek died on December 28, 2017 at his home in Manassas, Virginia, with his family gathered around him. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Sheri Rife Cizek, their children Brendan, Ashley and Crystal, his father, Greg Cizek Sr., his sisters Vickie Craig, Betsy Findley, Sue Wells, and his brother, Greg Cizek Jr. He was predeceased by his mother, Joan Lawrence Cizek. Andy was born in Lafayette, Indiana in 1965. He came to Springfield, Virginia with his family as an infant and attended St. Bernadette’s Catholic School, then graduated from West Springfield High School. He was a lifelong “motor head” and enjoyed working on anything with an internal combustion engine. After high school he began working as an apprentice mechanic at a major Toyota dealership, then with an independent repair facility. Later, he was recruited by Springfield Toyota and eventually became Service Manager, where he built a reputation for excellent, reliable service. Toyota owners knew and trusted Andy and appreciated his amiable demeanor. His illness forced a medical retirement and provided more time for Andy to build on his loving relationship with his children and to enjoy gardening and doing repairs for friends and family. Andy would give the shirt off his back to help people and will be remembered for his big heart and giving spirit. Andy loved to fish, whether at the family cottage in Nags Head or on the Chesapeake Bay with friends. He also loved to share beach traditions with his children like walking on the beach, body surfing and surf casting. Andy had the good fortune to teach his son, Brendan, surf casting, thereby continuing the tradition for the fourth generation. Andy also had a special relationship with his daughters. He and Ashley always shared a look, as if there was some secret between the two of them that only they knew. Crystal could often be found on Andy’s lap on any given day, or perhaps flipping between his arms.
