Andy, (Herman to his family) grew up in Galesburg and Vicksburg, MI.

He met his sweetheart, Marlene Lukomski, roller skating in Sturgis, MI. They exchanged marriage vows in 1962 and shared their commitment to God and each other for 56 years on April 7, 2018. They were members of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Vicksburg.

Andy was an expert skater and shared this passion with Marlene. His family enjoyed watching them figure skate together in perfect unison.

He enjoyed numerous interests and hobbies and was a true sports enthusiast. Andy competed in bowling leagues with Marlene and his sons for many years. He coached Little League baseball in Vicksburg with his kids throughout their youth. He was also an avid hunter, golfer, and huge Detroit Lions fan.

The most important theme throughout his life was family. He loved to take his family camping all over the United States. They traveled somewhere different every year, enjoying trips to Washington D.C., the Grand Canyon, Florida, and the Upper Peninsula, just to name a few. Cedar Point was also a family favorite every summer.

After his retirement, he moved to Austin Lake, in Portage, MI with Marlene and his beloved dogs. His family spent many summers enjoying pontoon boat rides and campfires at the lake. He spent the winters camping in the south with Marlene.

His interests after retirement changed to enjoying various activities with his grandchildren. He would be a constant figure at their musicals, recitals, and sporting events. A favorite ritual, that he cherished later in life, was Tuesday morning breakfast with his brothers Albert and Lawrence. He also enjoyed his friends and activities as a member of the VFW.

Andrew Herman Lewis was a loving husband, devoted father/grandfather, and dear friend. He was truly one of a kind and memories of him will be cherished and enjoyed. Until we meet again, we love you!
