Andres Hernandez Orozco, 77, of Galesburg, died peacefully at home, Sunday, December 5, 2021. Andy was born February 4, 1944 in Zacatecas, Mexico, the son of Maximino and Flora (Hernandez) Orozco.  Andy married Delores Garza on July 25, 1964 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Galesburg.

Andy is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Delores of Galesburg; two sons, James (Annette Ferris) Orozco and Pedro Orozco both of Galesburg; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Andy is also survived by three brothers, Joe (Jaye) Ojeda, Manuel Ojeda, and Danny Orozco all of Galesburg; one sister, Mary (Mark) Orozco-Johnson of Galesburg; and a sister in law, Paul Orozco of Galesburg. Along with his parents, Andy was preceded in death by one son, Andrew Orozco on December 25, 2020; one granddaughter; two sisters, Hope Padilla and Antonia Padilla; and one brother, Ruben Orozco. Andy was dedicated to his family and worked very hard to support them.

He owned and operated Campus Barber Shop in Galesburg from 1969 to 2017. He along with his wife also owned and operated La Mesa Inn in Galesburg from 1973 until its closure in 2020. During his years running his businesses, Andy also worked for several years at Maytag along with being a DJ on WGIL on Sunday’s hosting Mexican music for many years. In his earlier years, Andy worked at Reed’s Shoe Store in downtown Galesburg. Andy enjoyed working outside around the house and played baseball for many years. You wouldn’t find him sitting down much unless it was to cheer on his favorite teams the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears.
