Andre Cameron Pinkston of Peekskill, NY entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 1, 2018 at New York Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital.  He was 75 years of age. He was born on July 10, 1943 to Verdinia Pinkston and Olive Pinkston (nee Armstrong) in the Bronx, New York. 

He served honorably in the 285th Transport Company in the United States Army in Qui Nhon Vietnam from 1965 – 1967.  When he returned from the service, Andre attended Baruch College in NYC and received his Associate Degree. Andre spent most of his professional life in sales and really excelled at this.  Andre was a lover of adventure. He learned to sail, tried flying a plane and travelled the world extensively including France, Italy, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Egypt, Morocco, Thailand, Korea, Hong Kong, Bali,  Spain, the Caribbean, Hawaii and Alaska among other destinations. He brought joy wherever he went. He was a frequent visitor to the Bronx Vet Center, the Montrose VA and a charter member of Group 30, a group of close friends from his high school days at Evander Childs High School in the Bronx.

As a family man, he is survived by his life partner, Deborah August, his brother, Verdinia Lamarr Pinkston, his two children daughter Dara Monifa Pinkston Scott married to Ricardo Scott and son Kamati Andre Pinkston, who were born to Debra  Pinkston (nee) Lucas.  He also has two grandchildren, Tasia Monique Altreche (Raul) and Hudson Scott as well as cousins and extended family.
