Ana Teresa “Terry” Cantu passed away peacefully and was called back home on August 31st, 2020. Terry was born on May 6, 1956 in Hobbs, New Mexico to Santos Salazar and Ana “Mary” Hightower. She married the love of her life Johnny “Camaron” Cantu in 1974 and they began their journey in life together. Terry was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She had a heart of gold, and a smile that would would light up a room. She dedicated herself to doing for others, and never hesitated to stop what she was doing and run to those in need. Terry was the backbone of her family, day in and day out she gave her all and did the impossible. She was a loving wife, a caring mother, a grandmother who never said no, and a friend who never gave up on you. Terry was a woman of strong faith. She dedicated herself and her life to the Lord.
Terry is survived by her husband Johnny “Camaron” Cantu, mother Ana “Mary” Hightower, brother Joe Salazar, father and mother-in-law Manuel and Ernestina Cantu, children; Eileen Cantu, Daniel “Cabezon” Cantu, and Esteban “Hershey” Cantu, grandchildren; Juan Soliz and wife Brenda, Miriah Soliz and husband Steven “Coco” Constante, Cameron Soliz, and Lexy “Champurrada” Heredia and great-grandkids Juan “Chapo”Soliz and Miguel “Lito” Soliz and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Santos Salazar, daughter Ana Alicia Cantu, brother Johnny Salazar, and stepfather Marion Hightower and grandparents Santos Salazar Sr and Juanita G Salazar.
