Amos Gonzallas Jones was born on October 25, 1958 in Akron, Ohio and departed this life on April 16, 2020 at The Ohio State University Hospital East, at the age of 61 after a lengthy illness.

In his earlier years, Amos was known by his nickname to some as “Pimp Daddy Jones” because he was a flashy dresser and the ladies loved him and he loved the ladies.  He is proceeded in death by Mother, Eula Jones; Grandparents: Gladys Henderson Jones, Sam Jones; Great Grandmother: Dicie Roper; Brothers: Ronald Jr and Arnold Jones.

Amos was raised in Akron Ohio by his parents, Ronald and Eula Jones. He attended North High School in Akron Ohio.  In the late 1970’s, Amos moved to Columbus, Ohio and was employed with The Ohio State University, retired 2018.

Amos was a member of Rhema Christian Center, Columbus Ohio.  He loved attending Sunday morning service and was grateful to had developed true friendships with Pastor Dan and the members of the Mighty Men of Valor Ministries.

Amos met and later married Toya Gray, the love of his life,  joining together two families. He was a romantic and liked taking short walks with his wife. Together they loved sitting down at Scioto miles, overlooking the water. Amos enjoyed watching “Family Feud “and “In the Heat of The Night” while the t.v. shows watched him.

Amos was a hard worker both at home and on the job.  He was known around OSU campus as a hard nose amongst his staff.  If there was an uruly employee, they would be transferred over to Amos’s team to either shape up or ship out.

Amos believed he was a SuperChef and a master on the grill, both at work and at home.  Amos wouldn’t hesitate to challenge you to a cookoff.  I must admit, his barbeque chicken and cabbage was pretty good and he loved corn pudding.
