Amelio Mandozzi

Amelio Mandozzi, 87, of Leominster, died Thursday, March 06, 2014, in Life Care Center of Leominster. He was born on May 9, 1926, in Amandola, Italy. He was the son of Adorno and Clorinda ( Bianco ) Mandozzi. He was a United States Army Veteran of WWII. Mr. Mandozzi earned the rank of Tech 5, and served in the Rhineland and Central Europe Campaign, he also earned the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, and the combat infantry badge. He worked as a maintenance supervisor, at Fort Devens before retiring. Amelio was an avid golfer, and enjoyed playing cards with his brothers and cousins. He is survived by two sons Bruce Mandozzi and his wife Alma of Reading, PA, and Gene Mandozzi of Leominster, two daughters Corinne Melanson and her husband Robert of Gardner, MA and Brenda Butland and her husband Harry of Winchendon, MA, a grandson Nicholas Butland and his wife Sonnie, and a step-great-granddaughter Trinity. Amelio was predeceased by his wife of 58 years Lorraine M. (McGregor) Mandozzi on August 15, 2009, and by his 5 brothers John Mandozzi, Philip Mandozzi, Alfred Mandozzi, Santo Mandozzi and Mario Mandozzi.
