AMELIA MORENO HOLGUIN, 77, longtime resident of Deming passed away Tuesday September 21, 2010 at Hospice of the Valley in Tempe, Arizona.
Amelia was born October 3, 1932 in El Salto Nuevo, Durango, Mexico to Isaac Moreno and Maria Del Refugio Hernandez. She came to Deming in August 1957 from Mexico and locally had worked in food processing at Border Foods. Amelia was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and a member of the St. Ann Church Apostolado League of the Sacred Heart.
She is survived by 5 sons, Juan M. Holguin, Mesa, AZ, Robert M. Holguin and wife, Tery, Casa Grande, AZ, Victor M. Holguin and wife Nina and Ricky M. Holguin and wife Olga both of Deming, and Raul M. Holguin and wife Melanie of Madison Height, VA; 2 daughters, Josephina Chavez, Denver, CO and Mary and husband Ramon Perez Jr. of Deming; 3 sisters, Paula Cabrera and Petra Lopez, Grants and Maria Aguirre, Tijuana, Mexico ; brother, Victor Moreno, Los Angeles, CA; 18 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her Parents; husband, Roberto D. Holguin on Feb. 23, 2003; sister, Margarita Majalca; 2 brothers, Antonio and Delfino Moreno.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Ray Perez, Robert, David and Ricky Holguin Jr., Pablo Camacho and Louis Federico. Honorary bearers named will be the remaining grandchildren.
