Amelia (Amy) Granieri passed away peacefully at dawn on August
17th, with her daughters by her side. She was two days shy of her 87th birthday, and still exuded a beauty and vitality that were a marvel to behold. A true born and bred Rome girl, Amy attended RFA, and later worked at Pettibone, (then, “Fork and Hoe”), Revere Copper and Brass, the original Candy Land Restaurant, and much later, at Friendly’s.
Amy was a devoted wife to husband, Michael S. Granieri, Jr., her husband of 50 years, separated by Michael’s death in 2000.
Amy loved to travel, venturing often to the U.S. West Coast, Europe, and as far afield as Australia.
Amy’s joyous smile, great sense of humor, and sweet nature, warmed and cheered strangers, friends and family alike, and will be sorely missed, but never forgotten.
