Alvin Lee Smith, 81, Anderson, died July 18, 2009 at his residence He was born December 1, 1927 in Anderson, Indiana, and resided in Anderson all of his life. Alvin retired from Guide Lamp Division of General Motors after 30.1 years of service. He also had worked for Edgwood Police and Civil Defense.
He is survived by his children, Terrence Amy Smith of Anderson, Lisa Hinderer of Anderson, Brian Kimberly Smith of Anderson and Kimberly Kirk Hahn of Anderson; siblings, Betty Newt Wallace, Farrell Smith, Francis Smith, Shirley Taylor, Wanda Johnny Taylor, Eddie Smith, all of Anderson, Gerald Dawn Smith of Rock Lidge, Florida, Ervin Theresa Smith of Yorktown, Kay Glover, Peggy Lewis and Faylynn Johnson; grandchildren, Josh Benefiel, Tiffany Arnold, Missy Hinderer, Michael Hinderer, Christopher Wood, Kylie Smith, Amber Shelton, Michael Smith and Tara Shelton; 9 great grandkids; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Lee Greene Smith; parents, Charles & Rosetta Boyer Smith; grandson, Steven B. Smith and twin brother, Calvin Smith.
