Alvin L. Hamilton 84, passed away Monday October 5, 2015 at Mimbres Memorial Hospital in Deming.
He was born July 27, 1931 and raised in Perry County, Arkansas to Felix and Aileen Hamilton. Alvin joined the Army at the age of 17 and served for 4 years, most of that in Germany with the 1st Division. He was in Berlin during the blockade and airlift operations.
After leaving the Army he eventually settled in Morenci, Az. and began a 40 year career with Phelps Dodge in the copper mine. There he married Bennie Lou Dunsworth and just recently celebrated their 61st Anniversary. Retiring from PD they moved to Deming and enjoyed traveling, hiking, camping and working in the church until illness forced them to slow down.
