Alton Hugh (Al) Penner, 85, of Riverview, FL passed away Monday, February 27, 2012 at Brandon Regional Medical Center in Brandon, Florida. Alton was born on February 2, 1927 in York County, Nebraska.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Margaret Penner, brothers, Ardeen and Dean and sister Arlyce (Penner) Witherspoon.
In his early years, Al would help on the family farm. After graduating High School 1944 in Madrid Nebraska, he joined the Army Air Corp and was sent to Japan with the occupying forces. Upon his return to the US he moved to Idaho where he met and married Ardith Taber.
Al began his career with the US Government working as a land surveyor.
An avid wood worker, his retirement years were spent building furniture pieces for both family and friends. Al loved to travel and after his retirement Al and Ardith traveled to Mexico, Germany, France, Canada, New Zealand, Thailand and numerous trips throughout the U.
