PLEASANT VALLEY – BEDELL – Alma (Van Meter) Bedell, 96, Mallard Cove, Laconia, NH, formerly of Pleasant Valley, CT passed away on February 2, 2016. Born on September 9, 1919 in Laconia, NH; she was the daughter of Rush H. Van Meter and Helen M. (Jones) Van Meter. She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick M. Bedell in 1983. Alma was a member of the United Baptist Church in Lakeport, NH, the Mary Butler Chapter DAR in Laconia, NH and Hesper Chapter OES in Simsbury, CT. She is survived by her daughter, Lynette B. (Andrew) Thomas of New Hartford; a son, Rush M. (Edia) Bedell of Corsicana, TX; two granddaughters, Jennifer Gano (Eric Tubman) and Amber (John) Shelly; and three great grandchildren, Kayci, Abigail and Rush. Graveside services will be held in the spring at Riverside Cemetery, Pleasant Valley, CT. There are no calling hours.
