Alma R. Fields, age 75, of Salem, died at 8:34 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Salem Regional Medical Center. She was born October 26, 1941 in East Liverpool, Ohio, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Bircher) Barrett.

Alma was a 1962 East Liverpool High School graduate. She was employed in the Salem City School Cafeteria for 10 years. Alma was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church and a former member of the St. Jude Catholic Church in Columbiana.

She is survived by her husband Clarence “C.W.”, whom she married September 24, 1966.

Alma was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny and Robert Barrett; and three sisters, Mary Alice Lewis, Betty Pelley and Naomi Dye.

In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons, Joe (Kerstin) Fields of Mineral Ridge, Ohio and Clay “Clarence” Fields of Salem; 3 granddaughters, Gabrielle, Bailey and Maddison Fields; 1 grandson, Hunter Fields; 1 great-grandson, Tanner Lavorata; 2 sisters, Ada Mae (Jim) Perkins of North Lima and Ellen L. Shaw of East Liverpool.
