Alma “Irene” Pierce

Irene was born in near the town of La Junta in 1928. Her parents and brother, Gene, lived in a small farm until she graduated from high school and moved to Denver, Colorado. She met Ivan, her future husband, while for Standard Oil Company. Ivan and Irene were married in 1949 in Denver. The couple had two daughters, Lora born in 1951 and Christine born in 1954.
For her husband’s job, the family moved to Casper, Wyoming in 1959 and then to Twin Falls, Idaho in 1963. Irene worked as a book keeper for a department store until she and Ivan moved to Boise in 1975 where Irene worked for First Security Bank, which later became Wells Fargo. She retired from Wells Fargo in 1990.
Irene was a devoted wife to the love of her life, Ivan. Together they enjoyed looking for antiques, going to garage sales, and rock hunting. She loved being a mother and enjoyed sewing costumes for dance recitals and being the leader for Girl Scout troops. Irene also enjoyed making special cakes, candies, and cookies for holidays and birthdays. Irene will be remembered for her indomitable spirit and her caring for others. Irene is survived by her husband, Ivan and her daughter, Lora.
