Allene S. Lampley, 103 years old of Clarksburg, WV passed away on October 4, 2017 at the Golden Harvest Personal Care Home in Bridgeport, WV, after an extended illness. She was born on October 2, 1914 in Good Hope, WV; the first born daughter of the late Charles Guy Smith and Lillian Belle (Edwards) Smith.
Allene worked as a supervisor with the WV Department of Welfare for 20 years while living in Sutton, WV. After moving to Florida in 1977 she was with the FL HRS Food Stamp program in Miami, Fl.
Allene was married three times and all of her husbands preceded her in death. Her last husband was Walter Lampley. Her second husband was the owner of a shrimp boat and Allene moved to Guinia, South America to assist her husband in the shrimp business which required going to sea for weeks at a time which she enjoyed.
In 2005, she decided to move back to WV to be with her family. She established her residence at the Quarry Apartments where she received excellent care from her caregivers. She moved to the Personal Care Home for two months before her death.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles “Dick” Smith; and two sisters, Ernestine Dutchess and Betty Lieberman.
Allene is survived by a sister, Patricia Ann Shingleton & her husband, Argyle along with several nieces and nephews.
