Allen Thompson, 76, of Fortville passed away Saturday, November 26, 2016 at home surrounded by his family. He was born February 8, 1940 in Hamilton County to the late Robert E. and Elsie (Newby) Thompson. Allen worked for Navistar as a machinist, retiring in 1999 after 31 years.
He served in the Army National Guard and enjoyed taxidermy. He was also a member of BASS Masters of America, American Legion Post 391 and VFW Post 6904. Allen is survived by his children: Penny Goff of Fortville, Jeffrey Thompson of Fortville, and Chris (Lacey) Thompson of Ingalls; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and brothers: Dale Thompson of TX, Jerry Thompson of KY, David Thompson of Anderson, and Steve Thompson of Indianapolis.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marsha Thompson in 2005; son Tracy Thompson; great-granddaughter Payton Goff; and brothers Larry Bowen, Paul Thompson, Michael Thompson and James Thompson.
