Allan Winans, 90, of Galien, Michigan, died Sunday night, March 18, 2007 at Jenny’s Place Adult Foster Care, Berrien Springs, Michigan.Allan was born February 17, 1917 in Nanticoke, New York to Earl and Vera (Ferrell) Winans. Allan served his country in the US Army and was an accountant and business administrator for the Veterans Home in New York.
After retirement, he moved to Tampa, Florida to care for his parents where he commercially bred rabbits and worked in a greenhouse arranging flowers. Allan enjoyed painting, gardening, and ceramics. He had been living with his niece Meg in Galien for the past two years.Survivors include his nieces Meg (Ed) Serofino of Galien, Michigan and Bonita Conley of Tampa, Florida, and his brother-in-law John Conley of Carlsbad, New Mexico.
