Allan L. Kestner, age 67 of West Salem, OH., passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Hospice House of North Central Ohio. On September 11, 1943, in Cleveland, OH., Mr. Kestner was born to the late Lloyd and Margaret (Slabie) Kestner. He had been a resident of Ashland Co. all of his life. Mr. Kestner was self-employed working for Texas Refinery Corp. He served with the US Army during the Viet Nam War as a Captain in the 25th Division. Mr. Kestner had coached baseball and was a former member of the Albion Grange and the Polk Lions Club.
On December 23, 1966, Mr. Kestner married Judith Jacobs who survives. Also surviving are a daughter and son-in-law: Tara and Michael Nicely of Toledo, OH.; and 1 granddaughter, Piper Nicely of Toledo. Mr. Kestner was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.
