Alice (Henclewski) Wagner, 91, of Healthwin Specialized Care Facility, South Bend, formerly of Parkview Place, South Bend, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2005, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.
Alice was born on August 8, 1914, in South Bend, to the late Francis and Bernice (Kasprzak) Henclewski (former owner of Krakow Bakery in South Bend), and was a lifelong area resident. On June 20, 1944, she married Chester L. Wegenka (Wagner), who survives.
Along with her husband of 61 years, she is survived by her son, Christopher (Elaine) Wagner of Green Bay, Wisconsin; and three grandchildren, Allison and Nicholas Wagner of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Amanda of Madison, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Wagner and by a brother, Francis Henclewski.
Mrs. Wagner graduated from South Bend Catholic High School and then from Saint Mary’s College, where she received her bachelor’s degree. She worked as a teacher for over 30 years, especially enjoying math instructions with her students, at St. Mary’s Academy, Christ the King School, St. John the Baptist School and Holy Family School.
