Alice Marie Peterson, July 11, 1922 – March 23, 2018
Alice Marie (Ladage) Peterson passed away at the age of 95 under the care of Eagle Ridge of Grand Valley and Hope West Hospice in Grand Junction on Friday, March 23, 2018.
She was born in Grand Junction, CO to Walter and Stella Inez Ladage. Alice was the second child of five children. She graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1940. After graduation from Mesa Junior College, she went to work as an administrative assistant for Mountain Bell Telephone Company.
In 1946, Alice married Marvin D. Peterson. He also worked for the phone company and in the early 1960-s they transferred to the Denver area. They built a home in Wheat Ridge and lived there for many years. Alice had no children.
After retirement, Alice and Marvin spent time at their summer home in Granby, Co and traveled, spending time in Arizona. After Marvin’s death in 1985 Alice returned to work at the phone company and worked several more years. When Alice retired she traveled with her sister Alvera on cruises and road trips.
Alice enjoyed playing bridge and spending time with friends.
She was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America and enjoyed doing volunteer work for the organization.
When her health started to decline, her family moved her from Wheat Ridge to Grand Junction to be near them. Alice was a resident of Grand View Care Lodge. The staff gave her wonderful care until she became too ill for assisted living care and was moved to Eagle Ridge.
She is survived by her brother Al (Elsie) Ladage and several nieces and nephews. Her husband Marvin, parents Walter and Stella Inez, sisters Elnora Sparks, Alvera Lowe, and brother Raymond Ladage, are deceased.
Cremation has taken place and Alice’s ashes will be placed next to her husband at Crown Hill Mausoleum in Denver. We like to think that after thirty three years of being alone, Alice is once again with her husband Marvin.
