Alice Canady Chandler was born May 20, 1951 to the late L.D. Canady and Jettie Mae Pierce Canady in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Alice attended grade school and high school in Indianapolis, Indiana. Later in life she became a nursing assistant, worked labor jobs, and then became a homemaker.
Alice had a strong relationship with God and enjoyed listening to Yolanda Adams, especially her song, “Open Up My Heart.” She also enjoyed dancing and listening to R&B, Jazz, and Blues. We can just hear her saying to her longtime partner, Johnny, “Goodnight my love, love you for taking care of me.”
Alice Mae Canady Chandler departed this earthly life on March 19, 2021 at the age of sixty-nine years old. She was preceded in death by her parents; children, Christopher and Melissa; sisters Norma and Rose.
Alice Mae Canady Chandler leaves to cherish her memory her son, Gregory; daughters, Constance “Connie”, Vanessa and Charlotte “Denise”; brother, Charles; sisters, Yvonne, Maxine, Emma, Ruby; brothers-in-law, Robert “Bob”, Robert D.; 28 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
