Muncie – Alice M. (Rathel) Rambis, 81, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013, at The Woodlands following an extended illness.
Alice was born in Muncie on November 23, 1931, the daughter of Albert E. and Olive M. (Edwards) Rathel, and was a 1950 graduate of Gaston High School. She was raised and lived in Gaston and Muncie area all her life.
Mrs. Rambis was a Beautician for most of her life. She was a Co-Owner of Vogue Beauty Shop for 28 years with her life-long friend, Bernice Pittenger.
Survivors include a brother, Richard Rathel, (wife-Emma), Gaston; a sister, Jayne Klinefelter, (husband-Larry), Paris, Kentucky; three nephews, Jeff Rathel, (wife-Brenda), Aaron Klinefelter, (wife-Sarah), and Jeremy Klinefelter (wife-Shana); and two nieces, Carol Thornburg, (husband-Bob), and Heidi Smits, (husband-Neal).
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 32 years, Andrew Rambis Jr.
