With a broken heart Edward R Shields, Colonel, USAF (Ret) lost his loving wife of 59 years.  With family she passed away peacefully Thursday, January 7, 2016 at the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center as a result of complications from over 8 years of cancer.  She is now in the hands of the Lord.  Lee grew up in St. Lucie County Florida, graduated from Palm Beach High School and then to nurses school in Louisiana.  From there she pursued Modeling in Las Vegas, Nevada.  There she met Second Lieut. Ed Shields who was attending fighter pilot training at Nellis Air Force Base.  With love at first sight, they were married nearly a year later on September 8, 1956.

Lee is survived by her husband Ed; daughters, Mari Lee Shields and Lori Shields Hill and her husband Doug; grandson Edward Ryan Hill; granddaughter Aliceson Hill; extremely close and loving sister Elizabeth Woods and her husband Jim and niece Anna Woods of the Las Vegas area.  Lee was preceded in death by her parents Lee and Tyyne Regan; niece Jamie Woods and close cousin Phillis Baker.  The family would like to extend special thanks to the Emerald Coast Cancer Center, Doctors and staff; notably Tammy.
