Alice (Parker) Knutson, 93, of Utica, passed away Monday, May 31, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. Alice was born on September 1, 1927 in Chicago to Frank and Bernice (Bullinger) Parker.
Alice married Lloyd Knutson on January 8, 1949 in Mendota. She attended the Chicago School of Practical Nursing and worked as a nurse for 30 years at Illinois Valley Community Hospital, Illinois Valley Hospice, and private duty with The Angels of Spring Valley. She touched many lives throughout her lifetime.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Utica. She is survived by her three children, Thom (Sharon) Knutson of Lakeland, FL, Patti (Dennis) Holland of Oglesby and Connie (Ned) Norquist of Newark; 10 grandchildren, Tim and Jacob Holland, Jim and Melvin Mertel, Melissa Baize, Chad, Kyle and Justin Norquist, Jennifer Rink, and Angela Noe; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd on January 14, 2017; a daughter, Kathy Mertel; her parents; two sisters, Alberta and Rose Mary; a brother, Franklin; and a son-in-law, Henry Mertel.
