Ms. Johns was born on January 1, 1937, in Thonotosassa, Florida to Mr. and Mrs. Marion Sr. and Maie Lissie Johnson Robinson. She was one of eight children born to this union.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Johns; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Sr. and Maie Lissie Johnson Robinson; brothers, Governor Johnson, Arthur Johnson, Marion Johnson, Jr., Wilbert Johnson, Sr., and Theodore Johnson; sister, Lottie Mae Johnson Anderson; and son, Clarence Jerome Higdon.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory, daughter, Asia Johns; brother, Joe Johnson (Gloria); grandchildren, Jeronica Higdon, Destini Johns, James Graves IV (Lil’ Mann), and Janea Graves; sisters-in-law, Meraldine Banks (Nuke), and Rosa Johnson; devoted niece, JoAnn Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her; and, special friends, Jeanette Cooper, Melissa Watson, Mary Higdon, James Graves III (Bear), Vivian Bell and Jarvis Glover.
