Alice passed away on Tuesday, November 15th, 2016 surrounded by her family.
She was born on March 1st, 1940 in Paw Paw, MI to Bessie Brown and Charles Webb. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Arthur Golden, her parents, her sister, Betty Householder and her brother, Robert McElvain. She leaves behind 5 children, Paul Golden, Lori (Ken) Golden, Penny (Kevin) Anderson, Andrew (Kristen) Golden and Sherry (Bryan) Allers; 11 grandchildren, Jason, Dustin, Ryan, Joshua, Daniel, Racheal, Ashley, Payton, Ciera, Brandy and Jamie; 11 great-grandchildren that she adored; many nieces and nephews; and 3 of her closest friends, Marie, Betty B. and Sue.
Alice had a pretty good life. When Art was alive the two of them were bowling partners for many, many years and they traveled to a lot of different places just to meet some of their favorite country singers. She did not have to work but she chose to so she could support doing the things that she enjoyed like going to the movies with her sister Betty, taking little trips with the Portage Senior Center and being a member of the Red Hat Society. When Art passed she continued to be involved with the Portage Senior Center and going to luncheons with her friends. Alice was also a cancer survivor. She truly loved spending time with each one of us whether it was for 5 minutes or 5 hours it always made her day.
She was a sweet, warm and caring person to everyone she met and always smiling no matter how ill she was feeling. We enjoyed our time with her and we are saddened that she has left us but it eases our hearts knowing that Art will be waiting for her with arms wide open to hold her again. She will forever be in our hearts, we love you.
