Alice G. DeYoung, age 82, of Rensselaer passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010 in the emergency room at Jasper County Hospital.

Alice was born in Fair Oaks, IN on November 2, 1927, the daughter of Martin and Hilda (Bennema) Musch. Alice was raised in the Roselawn area and attended the Roselawn School. She had been a local resident since 2002, also having lived in Crown Point and Lowell, IN. For 25 years Alice delivered the Post-Tribune newspaper. She also was involved in childcare for several years. Alice attended the Mt. Ayr United Methodist Church. On December 15, 1948, in DeMotte, Indiana Alice married Kenneth DeYoung, Sr. who passed away August 26, 2002.

Surviving are five children, Howard (Debra) DeYoung, Merrillville, IN, Leonard (Bonnie) DeYoung, Rensselaer, Linda (Bill) Beavers, Crossville, TN, Kenneth (Diana) DeYoung, Jr., Rensselaer and Colleen (Paul) Schafer, Rensselaer; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gerald (Gloria) Musch, and Garrett (Evelyn) Musch, and two sisters, Evelyn Terborg and Marge (John) Kaluf, all of DeMotte, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth, one daughter, Shirley Johnson and her brother-in-law, Lawrence Terborg.
