Alice F. Poulos, 92, of Galesburg, died at 11:59 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017 at home.Alice was born January 23, 1925 in Cuba, IL, the daughter of George D. and Florence G. Steht Huff. She married Peter N. Poulos on March 22, 1950 in Palymra, MO.

He preceded her in death on March 23, 2001. Alice is survived by four sons, Nick (Barbara) of Wheaton, David (Pim) of Thailand, Ronald (Brenda) and Larry both of Galesburg; one daughter, Sister M. Phillippa Poulos stationed in Cuba; and one sister, Betty Taif of Galesburg. Also surviving is six grandchildren, Matthew Poulos, Brittany Boston, Sean Poulos, Alysia Poulos, Peter Nick Poulos, and Andrew Poulos; and two great grandchildren, Jacob and Addison Boston. Along with her husband and parents, Alice was preceded in death by one sister, Kathleen Dirks.

Alice worked as a school secretary for 39 years, first working at St. Joseph’s Academy and later Costa Catholic School. She retired in 2005. Alice was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed playing cards and bowling. Alice and Pete spent many years traveling throughout the US and Canada in their R.V. When her boys were active in scouts, Alice served as a den mother. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
