Alice E. McCluggage, age 87, of Salem, died Thursday, October 25, 2012 at the Blossom Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born October 27, 1924 in Elkton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Clifford E. and Ethelda J. (Korn) Johnson. Mrs. McCluggage was a 1943 graduate of Greenford High School and had worked at G.E. during the war and previously at the Lape Hotel. She was a member of the Salvation Army, Order of Eastern Star #344 and enjoyed ceramics, sewing and bowling. She bowled on the Valley View Bowling Team for many years with her sisters, Violet, Hazel and Judy. Her husband, Lt. Col. Robert McCluggage USAF Retired, whom she married May 12, 1945, survives her along with a son, Douglas R. McCluggage of North Jackson; two daughters, Teresa McCluggage of Canton and Ethelda Hartman of Youngstown; a sister, Judy (Dave) Linton of Salem; three brothers, Gene (Kay) Johnson of Salem, Edward J. (Betty) Johnson of Salem and Robert (Harriett) Johnson of Lisbon; grandchildren, Bryan Wilson of Shanghai, China, Joel Wilson of Bluffton, OH, Marc Baetsch of West Fargo, ND, Katy McCluggage of North Jackson, Luke McCluggage of Cleveland, Michele Leigh Hartman of Norfolk; four great-grandchildren, Laney McCluggage of North Jackson, Jarod Baetsch, Madigan Baetsch and Aaron Baetsch all of West Fargo, ND. Four brothers, Jim, Donald, William and Glenn Johnson and three sisters, Mae Hoffman, Violet Calvin and Hazel Anderson preceded her in death.
