Alice “Grandma Beans” Belongia, age 75, of Gladstone passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at the Christian Park Health Care Center in Escanaba.

Alice was born August 8, 1941 in Escanaba, the daughter of Isaac “Ike” and Beatrice “Mosie” (Beauchamp) Balenger. She was raised in Gladstone and graduated from the Gladstone High School in 1959. Alice was a member of the Agape Ministries Church in Escanaba and was also a member of TOPS for many years. She was very giving and enjoyed helping others. She especially enjoyed baking Christmas cookies and delivering them, with her “secret” helper, to family, friends and those in need.

Alice is survived by two sons, Henry (Tanya) Belongia of Gladstone and Dave (Stella) Belongia of Menominee; her daughter, Annette (Tony) Brousseau of Rapid River; her grandchildren, R.J. Hanson, Walter (Sarah) Hanson, Lisa (Mark) Belongia, Gabe, Matthew and Elizabeth Belongia; great grandchildren, Christian and Tracy Belongia; her sister, Beatrice (Richard) Micheau of Gladstone and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Henry I. Belongia, an infant grandson, David Belongia Jr. and her parents.
