Lakeland- Alice Berry Waschek, 73, of Lakeland, FL passed away at home on Saturday 12/29/12 of complications from Parkinson’s disease. Her daughter Susan was by her side. Born in Madison, Fl, Mrs. Waschek had been a resident of Lakeland since 1964. She was a care giver to many and retired from Lakeland Regional Medical Center after 35 years of employment, where she worked as a Charge Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit. She also concurrently worked as a home health care Nurse with Interim Health Care for many years, raised five children, feed home bound neighbors and helped her husband in the family business.
Our blessed mother was preceded in death by her husband and our father, John A Waschek II; and 8 siblings. Survivors include 3 sons, Robert Waschek and Mitchell (Laura) Waschek of Lakeland and John A. Waschek III of Wellborn, Fl. Two daughters Debra Whidden and Susan (John) Harris both of Lakeland; brothers Amos Berry of Birmingham AL, Louis Berry of Wellborn FL, and Jack Berry of Lake City FL; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
