Alfred Lionel (Al) Freathy, age 70, passed away on August 12, 2013, in Fort Walton Beach, Fla. He was born in Dayton, OH, to Albert Edward Freathy and Delta Stubblefield Freathy. Al grew up the son of military parents and moved frequently until settling in Clinton, MS where he made many lifetime friends. Al attended the Air Force Academy, graduating in 1964, and beginning his 1964 year Air Force career as a pilot. Additionally in 1964, he married the love of his life, Sandra Kay, beginning their 49 years together.
Al lost his life to an aggressive cancer, multiple myeloma. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Kay Freathy; a daughter, Sharon, and her husband, Jason Segars, of Wetumpka, Ala., with three grandchildren, Sarah, Jonothon, and Jeremey; a son, Brad and his wife, Tammy, of Lithia, Fla., and three more grandchildren, Audrey, Bradley, and Blake. He was preceded in death by his parents. Al took great pride in the achievements of all of his family and was always ready to share their latest successes.
