GARDNER, Alfred passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2011. He was born May 28, 1929, in Evergreen Park, IL, a son of Leo and Alma Simon Gardner, and was a long-time resident of the Kalamazoo area.
During his working years, Alfred was employed by M & T Battery and Electric and Farnsworth Chevrolet. After retiring, he worked for Longjohn Flowers, as a delivery person. Alfred was a member of the Lawrence Masonic Lodge, # 119, where he had served as the Worshipful Master and was a Life Member of the Lodge. On August 15, 1948, he married Jean Coffinger, who survives.
Also, surviving are their children, Raymond Mary Gardner of Comstock, Craig Sue Gardner of Nashville, MI, Larry Donna Gardner of Comstock, and Sharon Jim Den Hamer of Kalamazoo; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lois Ted Martin; several nieces and nephews.
