Alfred Charlie “A.C.” Hall, 80, of Martinsville, VA died Monday, January 11, 2010 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville/Henry County. He was born on April 28, 1929 in Surry County, North Carolina to the late Reverdy Charlie Hall and Mary Tate Hall. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by six sisters, Carrie Hall Reynolds, Ruth Hall Cox, Joyce Hall Chappell, Susie Hall Millard, Nettie Hall Bryant and Alice Hall Sechrest and four brothers, James Carlos Hall, Robert Reed Hall, Clark Turner Hall and William Oscar Hall. Mr. Hall was a member and deacon of Fort Trial Baptist Church and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He owned and operated Television Specialist with longtime friend, Wayne Compton. For the last 32 years he has been a Licensed Real Estate Broker and Certified Real Estate Appraiser in his own firm, A. C. Hall, Realtor. Mr. Hall served as past president and director of Martinsville/Henry/Patrick Counties Association of Realtors. He was chairman of Professional Standards and Ethics Committees for several years and served on the Henry County Equalization Board. Surviving are his wife, Opal R. Hall of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Janet Lynn Hall and Wade Hampton Wolfe of Martinsville, VA; brothers, John Anderson Hall of Collinsville, VA and Thomas Benton Hall of Hampton, VA and two sisters, Alma Hall Enfield of Cana, VA and Birtha Hall Thomas of Pilot Mountain, NC. A.C. is also survived by special sisters and brothers-in-law, Lovelene R. Hall, Lorene R. Pritchett, Audrey R. and Edgar White, Eleanor R. Lawrence and Sandra R. and Barry Woodford.
