Alfonso Joseph Cuevas “Mugs”, 49, lifetime Silver City resident passed away at his home Friday January 6, 2012.
Alfonso was born October 21, 1962 in Silver City to Pilar Arzaga and Alfredo Cuevas. He graduated from Silver High School and attended St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church. He worked in food preparation in local restaurants which was his gifted talent. He enjoyed his vehicle and was an avid Pittsburg Steeler fan.
Survivors include a daughter, Reesha Madrid, Silver City; 2 sisters, Gloria Jean Torres, Bayard and Cecilia Montoya Acosta, Arenas Valley; 5 brothers, Manuel Arzaga and Danny Lopez, Arenas Valley, Fred Cuevas, Silver City, Paul Cuevas, Bayard and Eddie Cuevas, Tucson, AZ; grandson, Gardenio Madrid, Silver City.
Preceding him in death were his parents; 3 brothers, Roy Ybarra and Mike and David Cuevas; sister, Patricia Cuevas; grandson, Richard Anthony Madrid and a brother-in law, Raymond Montoya.
