Alf Otto Barth, 94 went to be with our Lord March 1st 2016. He was born in Risor, Norway on August 5th 1921. Son of Haakon H. Barth and Emilie Evensen Barth, brother of the late Leif Barth and brother-in-law of the late Allyce Barth. Alf immigrated with his family to the United States in 1928. His family settled in Long Island New York where he and his brother lived to adulthood. Alf was a WWII veteran, serving in the Navy from 1943 – 1946. After receiving an honorable discharge from the Navy, he felt that he had not done enough for his country, so he joined the Army as an officer in the OSS (forerunner of the CIA). He was stationed in Japan during the occupation, serving from 1947, until being honorably discharged in 1950. In 1951 he married Jayne Ingram who predeceased him in 2007.
