Alexander Bothwell, Sr. of Columbus, NJ passed away on June 6, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. The eldest child of William Nassau and Annemarie Bothwell, Alexander was born May 2, 1934 in Port Reading, NJ. He graduated from Woodbridge High School in 1951, and immediately entered the military. As a result of his active service in the US Army’s 101st Airborne Division from 1954 to 1956 he became a veteran.
After leaving the military Alexander attended Rider College in Trenton, where he met his wife of 49 years, Albina Beatrice Gennello. He worked as a tool and dye marker at DeLaval Turbine Company in Trenton for 37 years until his retirement in 1996.
Along with his family, Alexander co-founded several businesses including Gennello’s Fruit Produce and Deli in Hamilton, Bookkeeping Assistance, dvPayroll and HR, and Primepoint, LLC in Bordentown, NJ. After his retirement from DeLaval he continued to work at dvPayroll and Primepoint until his death. Alexander was an avid fisherman, enjoyed traveling with his family, and attending sporting events of his children and grandchildren.
A loving husband and father, he is survived by his wife Albina Beatrice. Three sons and their wives Alexander & Valerie, William Nassau & Hildegarde, David & Mary. Eight grandchildren, two brothers William Nassau and Henry a sister Anne Marie Truelove and extended family.
