Alexandria – Aldina Maestri (b. Aldina Beltrami) born September 18, 1930 in Carisolo, Italy to Giovanni Battista and Margherita Ambrosi Beltrami, and widow of Santo Maestri, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2022 at Adler Hospice Center in Aldie, Va. Aldina moved to Harmony Assisted Living in January of 2022 from her home in Alexandria where she had resided since 1965.
Aldina, born and raised in a small northern Italian village, the second of four children, married Santo Maestri on February 12, 1953, and immigrated to the United States in 1955. Aldina was predeceased by her husband Santo Maestri in 1993. She is survived by their two sons, Bruno Maestri (m. Francine) of Fairfax, Va., and John Maestri (m. Susan) of Leesburg, Va., She is also survived by five grandsons, Nicholas Maestri (m. Delilah) of Pennsburg, Pa., Kevin Maestri of Austin, Tx, Michael Maestri (m. Alyssa) of Raleigh, NC, Santo Maestri (m. Heidi) of Richmond, Va. and Eric Maestri of Austin, Tx.
Aldina was a homemaker, childcare provider, and enjoyed a 25-year career with Woodward and Lothrop, she retired in 1992. She was an avid gardener, an excellent cook, and enjoyed needlework. Her biggest joy was celebrating meals with family, and her home and kitchen were always open for a coffee or a meal. She was a strong presence in the lives of her grandchildren.
