Alberta “Grandma Budda” Veltman, 81 of Centralia, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014 at her home.
She was born February 12, 1933 in St. Louis, Missouri, daughter of Omar Wesley McRoy and Gladys Ida (Buff) McRoy.
She married Jack Holzhauer in 1951 and he preceded her in death in 1972. She married Ralph Veltman in 1979 and he preceded her in death in 2000.
She is survived by a son, Steve Holzhauer and family; five daughters: Tara (Holzhauer) Machado and family of Vista, CA, Kara (Holzhauer) Gold and family of Centralia, Vicki (Holzhauer) Mayfield and family of Centralia, Jackie (Holzhauer) Cook and family of California, and the late Debbie Pennington and family; two step children: Eddie Veltman of Centralia and Linda Veltman of Colorado; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Pat Price and husband Truman of Centralia.Alberta was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands: Ralph Holzhauer and Ralph Veltman, a grandson, Cody Mayfield, and two brothers: Charles McRoy and Omar W. McRoy, Jr.
Alberta enjoyed sewing, crocheting and painting. She was a member of the Ladies Auxillary at St. Mary’s Hospital, Ladies of the Moose, Ladies Auxillary VFW, Class of 51 Club, First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Centralia and the Card Club. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
