Albert W. Benbow, Jr., of Leisuretown, Southampton, NJ., died peacefully Tuesday, February 5th at Samaritan Hospice Inpatient Unit, Virtua Hospital, Mt. Holly at the age of 81 years. Born and raised in Beverly, NJ and surrounded by many loving aunts and uncles, Mr. Benbow had been a longtime resident of the Beverly/Edgewater Park area before moving to Leisuretown with his wife in 2000. Employed by the U.S. Government as a mail carrier for the Willingboro Post Office he retired in 1986 after 24 years of service. A United States Air Force veteran, he served his country honorably from 1958 until his discharge in 1964.

A loving and devoted family man he took great pride in his home and providing for his family. Rather a handyman, he was always involved in some sort of projects around the house or doing some project for a friend or neighbor. He had a heart of gold and never hesitated to help others. Deeply loved and missed, life will not be the same with out him. A past member of the Roma Club in Burlington, he was also a member of the Hope Hose Fire Co. #2 in Beverly and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

A devoted husband, beloved father and wonderful grandfather, he leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 57 years, whom he met while both were serving in the Air Force, Dorothy (nee Howe) Benbow, his children: Deborah (Frank) Santarsiero of Mercerville, NJ, Brenda Benbow of Edgewater Park, his grandchildren: Jennifer Lee Kerstetter, Jill (Don) Bearce, Tara Ann Kerstetter and Amanda (Joseph) Palumbo as well as his two great-grandchildren: Camryn and Tyler Bearce and his cousin Cindi Westcott.
