Albert Carmen Romanelli, 86, a life-long Beacon resident, passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at his home, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Albert was a devoted husband and loving father of five children & five grandchildren. Albert was born on January 27, 1932 in Beacon, son of the late Antonio & Rose (DiMenza) Romanelli. He was a graduate of Beacon High School, and furthered course studies at Dutchess Community College. Albert served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1952-1954; upon his discharge he returned to his position at IBM in East Fishkill, where he continued for 39-years, and retired as an advisory (senior associate) engineer. On October 20, 1962 at St. Denis Catholic Church on Sylvan Lake in Hopewell Jct., he married Rosemary Ann Bolsover, who survives at home, having just celebrated 56-years of marriage. Together they raised two sons & three daughters who also survived him: Mark (Ana Maria) Romanelli, Maria (Ricky) Harrison, Anthony (Michelle) Romanelli, Christine (Juan) Romanelli-Ingles and Bernadette Romanelli. He is survived by his five grandchildren: Trevi Romanelli, Brittani Romanelli, Tony Romanelli, Dillon Harrison and Jesse Harrison; and also his two sisters, Rose Polhemus and Jeanne (Richard) Cole; and several nieces, nephews & many friends. He was predeceased by his two brothers and two sisters; Joseph & Anthony Romanelli, Mary Gunn and Antoinette Miller. Albert loved & enjoyed going to the racetrack, casinos, and day-trips with his wife Rosemary. Albert had a passion for gardening; he took great pride in it at his home. He took his hobby of gardening and started the Beacon Farmers Market.
