Albert Earl Stanker age 63, of DeMotte, IN passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Southlake Methodist Hospital in Merrillville, IN. He was born August 19, 1953 in Detroit, MI to Felix F. and Betty Mae (Rushing) Stanker, both deceased. Albert married Beverly B. Tesky, who passed away November 5, 2005.
He attended Lawrenceville, Illinois High School. Albert was a diesel mechanic for Wayne’s Frame & Body of Gary, Indiana from which he retired. Albert enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Lowell Southlake Thursday Night Bowling League, and was a proud member of the NRA. He was an avid hunter & fisherman, golfer and comedian.
He was a joy to be around and loved his family & friends. Albert is survived by his children: Felix “Dave” (Sarrah) Stanker of Schneider, IN; Mary (Robert) Steele of Morocco, IN; Albert Earl (Cynthia Dodge) Stanker Jr. of DeMotte, IN; 4 grandchildren: David Stanker, Michelle Stanker, Kendra Stanker, and Bobbie Steele; siblings: Mary Stanker of Lawrenceville, IL and Chuck Stanker of Lawrenceville, IL.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers: George & Felix, and nephew, Anthony Stanker.
