Alan Wayne Rose, age 62, passed away on December 25, 2017 at his home in Bristow, VA. He was born on February 10, 1955 in Alexandria, Virginia to the late Ralph Herschel Rose and Kathryn (Goad) Rose. Alan lived most of his life in the northern Virginia area. He graduated from James Madison High School in Vienna, VA in 1974 and he attended Radford College. Alan was a talented carpenter, painter and wall paper hanger. He built furniture and remodeled and decorated houses throughout the northern Virginia region. Alan loved sports, participating in basketball while in high school. He also played basketball and softball in church and community leagues. He was a lifelong fan of the Baltimore Orioles and the Baltimore / Indianapolis Colts. Alan was also a lifelong NASCAR fan and attended many of the races. Survivors include his mother Kathryn G. Rose of Reston, VA; two brothers, Ralph Rose, Jr. of Fredericksburg, VA and Douglas Rose (Sharon) of Murrells Inlet, SC; one sister, Karen S. Rose of Sterling, VA; one aunt, Theda Rose of Manassas; and one uncle, T. A. Goad of Penhook, VA.
