Mr. Miller was born May 16, 1927 in New Britain, CT, son of the late Harold F. Miller and Mildred Davis Miller. He attended New Britain High School, but received a veteran’s diploma after the war.

 

His hobbies were hiking, Scottish Dancing and genealogy. As a member of the Appalachian Mountain Club he achieved his 4000 footers badge in the spring of 1991. He was a member of St. Andrew’s Society of Connecticut for whom he led the color guard for a number of years and volunteered at the Scottish Festival. He was a docent for the Mattatuck Museum of Waterbury. He belonged to the following genealogical societies: Descendants of Ancient Windsor, and Welles Family Association. He enjoyed listening to classical music and attending theater. He was a member of the Plymouth Education Association. He was past president of the American Federation of Teachers of Terryville.

 

He leaves his spouse, Lucille Fournier Miller, three sons, Jeffrey Miller of Bethlehem, Bruce Miller of Winsted and John Miller of Auburn, Maine, four grandsons, Erik D. Miller of Winsted, Charles B. Miller of Washington Depot, Evan S. Miller of Winsted and John C. Miller of Danbury, and one sister, Barbara Miller of New York City, New York.
