Agnes Florence Cornman, 92, of Greensburg, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018. “Nessie,” as she was known to her family and friends, was born Oct. 20, 1926, in Belfast, Northern Ireland. She met her husband, Howard Cornman, during World War II while he was stationed in Northern Ireland prior to his deployment to Normandy with General Patton’s Third Army. After the war, Nessie came to America, where she married Howard. She was a devoted wife and mother and was beloved by all who knew her. She was known for her joy, her vibrant and caring personality and witty sense of humor. She was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and a member of Hempfield Church of Christ, where she devoted her life to many of the ministries within the church. She will be greatly missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Bishop and Agnes Rae Crawford; her husband, Howard Cornman; son, Kevin Cornman; two sisters; and a brother. She is survived by her son, Bill Cornman (Karen); two daughters, Shelagh Robertson (Wayne) and Heather Smith (Tom); four grandchildren, Rachel Ravis (Ryan), Bethany Smith (Troy Faulk), Shannon O’Guin (Ryan) and Ian Cornman (Emily); four great-grandchildren; two loving sisters, Sheila Rice and Patsy Purkiss; and her beloved dog, Callie.
